FACULTY POSITION: DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY, DIVISION OF GENERAL SURGERY / ACUTE CARE SURGERY

The University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks candidates to join the full-time faculty of the Division of General Surgery at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Candidates should be board-certified in General Surgery or currently in training in an accredited General Surgery fellowship program. Responsibilities will include establishing a an Acute Care Surgery as well as a broad General Surgery practice at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center as well as at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Downtown and Midtown Campuses. Conducting independent clinical or laboratory research, contributing to the comprehensive growth of General Surgery throughout the Medical System, and educating medical students, surgery residents, and fellows. Candidates should have a clear plan for clinical practice building, academic development, and scholarly activity that is consistent with the mission of the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Salary Range: $351,806 - $564,539

The referenced salary range reflects base pay, determined by faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the DEPARTMENTAL faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please get in touch with the hiring department.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position. It is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary. It will ultimately depend on multiple factors, including the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training, and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
