The U.S. Naval Academy invites applications for the position of Associate Provost for Academic Affairs with a start date as early as June 2024. The Office of the Provost is committed to the principles and practice of equity, diversity, and inclusion. We are the executive team for an academic enterprise that uniquely comprises both civilian and military educators, dedicated to the Naval Academy’s mission of developing leaders to serve the nation. Vital to our mission is providing a vision and direction for the academic program, serving as role models and mentors for faculty and midshipmen, and collaborating within and across stakeholder groups. Our commitment to supporting faculty and midshipmen and our desire for excellence in all aspects of our work requires fostering an environment in which everyone is welcomed, supported, and inspired to share their diverse experiences, perspectives, and ideas. We seek an Associate Provost for Academic Affairs (APAA) who is eager to join a team of leaders and champions of these principles. The successful candidate will serve as part of the Provost's staff, facilitating strategic planning efforts at all levels within the Naval Academy and serving as the principal advisor to the Provost on all matters relating to the curriculum and student progress through the academic program. While primarily affecting the people and programs associated with the academic aspect of the USNA mission, the APAA also contributes in significant ways at the Yard-wide level. The United States Naval Academy (USNA) is a four-year undergraduate institution with a mission to prepare midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically for commissioning as officers in the naval services. It is located in historic downtown Annapolis, MD. This is an on-site, 12-month compensation model, federal excepted service position with an initial three-year appointment, full federal benefits (Benefits (opm.gov)), and compensation commensurate with experience. Application review will begin on January 16, 2024, and will continue until the position is filled. For more information about this position and how to apply please visit the USNA position announcement at https://www.usna.edu/HRO/jobinfo/APAA-AY24.php.
