Job Title: Shuttle Driver (Part-time)
Department: Transportation Services
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Building Services Supervisor
Grade: 2
Range: $15.27 - $18.68
Work Mode: Part-time
General purpose: The Maryland College Institute of Art is seeking a part time shuttle driver. The Shuttle Driver position is a key position within MICA and requires the ability to provide safe transportation service to the MICA community. The successful candidate will have a high level of daily interaction with MICAs diverse population and will report directly to the Manager of Transportation & Operation Services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive vehicles to transport students between the college, neighborhoods and college activities
Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
Read maps, and follow written and/or verbal geographic instructions
Report delays, accidents or traffic and transportation situations using telephones or mobile two-way radios
Report any vehicle malfunctions, damage and maintenance needed
Assist with Shopping Shuttle one to two days a week
Assist with academic/special event trips (various times/days)
Service vehicles for fuel when needed
Perform light maintenance duties for vehicles
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Stable work or education history with excellent attendance record
Maintain a valid Maryland Drivers License.
Ability to perform basic math as well as read, write, and speak English to understand and communicate written/verbal instructions
Ability to work in various climatic conditions
Ability to communicate effectively with the supervisor and co-workers
Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment
Ability to work with diverse populations
Superior interpersonal and positive customer service skills
Valued, but not required qualifications:
Maryland CDL license
1-3 years of related experience
Prior experience working on a college campus
Customer service experience

Required training: Handbook orientation, Anti-Harassment, Hazard Communication, Emergency Plans & Fire Prevention, Personal Protection Equipment. (additional training may be added, SEE: EHS Manager training schedule)
