Job Description:
This is a senior level position in the Office of Sponsored Projects. Primary responsibility includes all aspects of proposal preparation along with submissions and award management –including finding funding; interpreting sponsor guidelines for proposal submissions; reviewing routine/complex proposals and budgets for compliance with applicable regulations and policies; utilizes multiple sponsor and internal electronic systems and websites; acts as liaison for UTD to sponsors, faculty and staff throughout the campus; resolves complex issues independently. Manage complex faculty portfolios, provide mentorship and training to junior specialists and student workers. Present training both internally and externally to OSP serving as a subject matter expert. Primary contact for more complex post-award duties such as transfer awards, prior approval requests, and effort requirements. All incumbents will remain current on issues in the field of research administration and attend training for professional development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, public administration or accounting and five or more years relevant professional experience in research administration, including at least one year experience as a Senior Grants Specialist or Post-award management in a University Sponsored Project office; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Excel, Word and database management. Knowledge of federal grant systems and the rules and regulations that guide administration of externally sponsored awards (OMB circulars A-21 and A-133 and NIH and NSF grant policies).
