Mid-Atlantic HERC

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, together with the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor.    Responsibilities include providing primarily outpatient sports and spine rehabilitation care, although some inpatient care will be expected.   This individual will assume responsibility for patients’ clinical quality, safety, outcomes and satisfaction; advocate a scientific approach to patient care delivery; actively participate in assigned Hospital and Department Committee work; and participate in research and in medical education activities, including teaching medical students and residents and fellows.

Qualified candidates will be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Illinois; have successfully completed an accredited residency program in physical medicine and rehabilitation and fellowship in sports medicine or pain management; be Board certified or Board eligible; have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, important referring parties, hospital executives, treatment team members and staff; and have strong analytical skills to communicate effectively.

The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.

This position involves a faculty appointment at NU and employment at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (www.sralab.org).  The initial application is done on-line with Northwestern University, but will also be reviewed by staff at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
