Position: The College of Health Professions invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor position in the Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science beginning August 2022.
Qualifications Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Maryland. Minimum of three years full time clinical experience practicing occupational therapy with an identified area of expertise. Experience in clinical instruction (e.g., student supervision) and/or administrative experience. Demonstrated awareness and clear articulation of strategies to foster an inclusive learning/practice environment.
Responsibilities 50% workload assigned as Occupational Therapy Center (OTC) Director, establishing programs and services, hiring qualified occupational therapists to serve as supervisors and provide direct care to clients. Additional duties include coordinating schedule of programs with other center directors and OTOS department chair/program directors to enable student fieldwork, orientation of level I and II students and collaboration with faculty to assign placements; oversee administrative components of the OTC to meet standards of the Institute for Well-Being (IWB) operations; attend IWB Leadership meetings.
50% workload assigned to teach graduate students in coursework focused on clinical practice in area of expertise and foundational knowledge. Facilitate teaching and learning experiences, advise a diverse body of professional students, and participate in service to the profession as well as within the department, college and university.
