The College of Education invites applications for a lecturer, 10-month position in the Department of Secondary and Middle School Education (SMED) beginning August 2021.
Master’s Degree in education or related field required. Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience in middle or secondary settings (grades 5-12). Knowledge of professional development school (PDS) programs and commitment to collaboration with public schools. Experience in teaching English, reading/literacy, or social studies.
Position will be assigned an instructional workload of four courses per semester. The candidate will work in a PDS setting to teach and supervise teacher candidates. The candidate will teach undergraduate courses with the possibility of graduate courses in secondary and middle school education. Courses may include general methods in Secondary and/or Middle School, English and/or literacy courses, Ethics in Education, and other courses as needed. The candidate will be responsible for serving on college and departmental committees.
