The Department of Biology at Washington and Lee University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor of Biology, beginning July 1, 2021. This position carries a 6-course teaching load distributed over Fall and Winter terms (12 weeks each) and the university’s 4-week Spring Term. Candidates should be prepared to teach a 200-level course in Genetics, with lab, a 300-level Microbiology course, with lab, and one additional upper division lecture course. We are especially interested in candidates with a background in Neuroscience and/or microbial genetics that could support interdisciplinary programs in Neuroscience or Environmental Studies.

Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. or have ABD status in Biology and will be able to teach Genetics and Microbiology with labs as well as upper division courses in Neuroscience or Environmental Studies.
