The George Mason University, Office of Human Resources and Payroll seeks a detail-oriented and organized team player to provide payroll support and processing as a Payroll Assistant. This position is part of a larger employee service team and is responsible for the full-range of payroll processing activities, to include:
Taxable Travel Refunds
Taxable Graduate Tuition Waiver
Monitor payroll email accounts
Serving as the Timekeeper Administrator
Customer service related to the payroll function
Applicants should desire to work in a team environment, where priorities change rapidly and customer service is considered essential.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Superior communication, organizational, prioritizing and customer service skills;
Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material;
Problem-solving, analytical skills and mathematical ability;
Ability to build collaborative and mutually beneficial working relationships with people of different backgrounds;
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
2-3 years of experience in an accounting environment.
Certified Payroll Professional;
Experience with the Ellucian Banner system or an equivalent in-house system;
Experience working in a high-volume payroll office environment.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
