The Website Coordinator will be responsible for content and minor HTML updates for both carey.jhu.edu and the Carey Business School intranet site. Reporting to the Web Strategy and Analytics Manager, this position includes the opportunity to contribute to user training and governance, Content Management System (CMS) template development, design, and accessibility governance.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
Manage daily web maintenance requests and questions from Carey's faculty and staff and collaborate with team members across the Marketing and Communications team as needed
Support the Web Strategy and Analytics Manager in the quality assurance and implementation of new web-based tools and technologies, in collaboration with the Software Services team as needed
Proactively identify opportunities to improve overall web maintenance process
Collaborate with the Web Strategy and Analytics Manager to improve technical SEO and ensure web accessibility compliance
Collaborate with the Web Strategy and Analytics Manager to build new web pages in support of lead generation and brand awareness initiatives
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, organize workflow, set priorities, thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment, consistently meet deadlines, and adhere to brand identify and editorial standards
Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor's degree (in computer science, digital media information technology, communications, journalism, marketing or related field) preferred
A minimum of 3 years in a web authoring environment, maintaining or developing websites and working with various clientele.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate verbally and via email with multiple audiences
Experience using web-based content management systems (e.g., Expression Engine, WordPress, Site Executive) strongly desired
Ability to establish priorities and to plan and monitor own work plan
Strong attention to detail and ability to research, troubleshoot, and analyze data
Knowledge of emerging web technologies, especially those that relate to marketing (social media and interactive web and mobile applications)
Proven team participation and responsibility with regard to technical projects and initiatives in a complex organization
Familiarity with responsive design
Knowledge of social and mobile media, including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
Working knowledge SEO and strong command over web accessibility standards
Experience with design related tools including Adobe CS4/5 Photoshop and Illustrator
