Position will include teaching (traditional classroom and online delivery) with a focus on strong pedagogical approach and quality student learning assessment. Position also includes performing small animal surgery, providing veterinary care to program animals, and supervising students in labs and clinics. Participation in institutional development such as service and leadership on college committees, academic advising, and mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline are expectations of this position. Candidates will also participate in scholarly engagement and professional development activities and community service to both the BRCC campus and the local service region.
Required qualifications include a DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college, current active veterinary licensure, eligibility for licensure as a veterinarian in Virginia (if currently licensed elsewhere), and 2 or more years of recent, relevant clinical experience. Required qualifications include strong small animal medical and surgical skills, a commitment to applications of instructional technology and an enthusiasm for the community college mission and environment.
