The purpose of this position is to provide administrative assistance and support to the Chief Information Officer and the Office of Information Technology. Assist the CIO with the management of IT projects. Maintain records of the IT division and assist with the technology purchasing requirements and tasks as needed. This position will: * Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to work simultaneously on a wide variety of special projects as assigned while being entrusted with appropriate discretion to implement and/or administer special projects. * Assist with all purchases for division. * Schedule appointments, departmental and CIO meetings and tasks regarding pending meetings, deadlines, and other activities. * Provide the CIO current department budget summaries and detailed reports via access to PeopleSoft's AIS. * Confer regularly with the CIO to stay informed on issues. * Receive, screen, and distribute departmental mail. * Perform other duties at the request of the CIO. Serving as the administrative assistant to the Chief Information Officer, the incumbent will maintain effective and efficient office operation. This includes scheduling meetings and activities, screening, coordinating, and drafting correspondence, maintaining records and data, coordinating budgets, tracking, following up and providing timely and accurate responses to requests for information.
* Associate degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience * Considerable knowledge of applicable computer software/programs. * Considerable knowledge of programmatic requirements. * Strong human relation skills including internal and external contacts. * Ability to concentrate on detail and provide accuracy. * Ability to determine needs and initiate projects or tasks. * Strong organizational skills to ensure timely progress on multiple simultaneous tasks. * Self-motivation and the ability to exercise independent judgment. * Knowledge of software programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
