This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Office Specialist 2 position for the Animal & Rangeland Sciences at Oregon State University (OSU).
The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to the administrative and departmental programs of the Department of Animal and Rangeland Sciences (AnRS) in the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) at Oregon State University (OSU). The primary function of the department is teaching, research, and extension. AnRS has 41 faculty, 2 professional faculty, 7 support staff, 24 graduate students, and 429 undergraduate students. In addition, AnRS has 8 farm units in the Corvallis area.
Duties of this front office position include:
Offering exceptional customer service through phone, email, and in-person communication; responding to inquires and requests from the department, students, and general public.
Processing invoices; receiving, preparing, and submitting departmental deposits; departmental purchasing.
Support for department's undergraduate student employees; HR duties, maintaining departmental listservs, updating forms and policies/procedures manual.
The responsibilities of the office specialist include problem identification as well as taking the initiative to identify options that will provide a workable solution.
Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience. College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Excellent skills in time management, this position faces constant deadlines and frequent interruptions.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions.
Full-time office work. Standard working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
May be asked to participate in flexible working hours for occasional departmental events.
