University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Department of Surgery is currently seeking Senior Research Project Coordinator to join the Division of Transplant Surgery. The Senior Research Project Coordinator will coordinate clinical trials for Transplant Research Team (TRT) within the Division of Transplant Surgery. The Senior Research Project Coordinator will coordinate with PI's, sponsors and academic institutions. The Senior Research Project Coordinator will serve as a point of contact for sponsors, study participants and will report to the IRB any findings and claims of non-compliance.

Assists PI in communication of study requirements to all individuals involved in the study. Provides appropriate training and tools for study team members. Documents date of training and signatures of study personnel trained on study specific training log.
Responsible for ensuring optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications.
Develops recruitment streams and advises participants of study objective, requirements, risks, benefits and obtains their consent and enrollment.
Lead the collection and management of study data by developing data collection instruments, establishing and maintaining databases, and performing data quality checks.
Develop reports summarizing study deviations Attend coordinators meetings as required or requested by the study sponsors. Contributes meaningful information to enhance publications or grant applications. Monitor activities to ensure compliance with protocols and all relevant local, federal, and state regulatory and institutional policies
Collaborates with the PI to prepare IRB/HRPO and any other regulatory submission documents as required by the protocol.
Maintenance of accurate and complete documentation including but not limited to regulatory documents, signed informed contest forms, relevant IRB approvals, source documentation. product accountability logs, Maintenance of accurate and complete documentation including but not limited to regulatory documents, signed informed consent forms, relevant IRB approvals, source documentation, device dispensing supply logs, subject logs case report forms (CRFs), enrollment logs, and study related communications
Assists in budget development, expenditure adherence, and maintenance of inventory on equipment and supplies. Obtains, processes, and transports specimens to appropriate laboratory according to established aseptic technique. Performs venipunctures and finger sticks to obtain blood specimens.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelors in Sociology, Psychology, Nursing or field study related to the research of the clinic.
Experience: Two (2) years of research coordination experience with at least one (1) year in research specialization.
Preferred Certifications: CITI,HIPPA
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Superior reading comprehension and writing skills including comprehension, expression and deductive reasoning.
Knowledge of information and terminology in medical/research field Superior Organization and critical thinking skills.
Interpersonal skills including active listening, coordination and problem solving.
