The laboratory of Dr. Derek Welsbie in the Department of Ophthalmology at UC San Diego uses high-throughput screening and a variety of functional and chemical genetic techniques to explore the molecular pathways responsible for cell death and axon degeneration in axon injury diseases like glaucoma. The lab has recently become interested in leveraging this infrastructure to develop novel regenerative strategies for glaucoma.
The Postdoc will aid the PI in managing experimental design and conduct, data analysis, writing and publishing scientific reports, manuscripts, and grants.
