Academic, Personnel, and Student Services Coordinator
The George Mason University, Division of Child, Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) within the College of Education and Human Development invites applications for an Academic, Personnel, and Student Services Coordinator. About the Division:
The Division of Child, Family, and Community Engagement includes the Counseling, Early Childhood Education, Human Development and Family Science, and School Psychology academic programs. The position will assist with managing day-to-day operations for the academic programs within the division while also providing a wide-range of administrative, academic, personnel, and student services.
About the Position:
The Academic, Personnel, and Student Services Coordinator will work closely with the Division Director, faculty, and staff on a wide range of academic, student, program, and division assignments.
Serve as the point-of-contact for the division and academic programs, including responding to emails, answering telephone inquiries, and assisting in-person visitors;
Provide student services, including engaging with prospective and current students, supporting information sessions and orientations, and processing paperwork;
Provide academic program support, including support with accreditation and program review, admissions, course enrollment monitoring, course scheduling, course syllabi preparation, and desk copy and textbook orders;
Coordinate academic program events, including scheduling, marketing, invitations, catering, and technology;
Perform hiring duties, including initiating electronic hiring processes, assisting with onboarding, generating contracts, and approving time sheets;
Perform administrative duties, such as purchasing, reconciling purchase card transactions, travel coordination and processing, and records management and retention;
Assist faculty and staff with projects, activities, and initiatives and manage day-to-day operations;
Supervise work study students.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience;
Demonstrated experience providing administrative, academic, personnel, and student services for academic programs;
Demonstrated experience performing office functions such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and greeting and assisting visitors;
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets;
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel);
The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a flexible and professional manner;
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
Excellent organizational and time management skills and a strong ability to multitask and prioritize;
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Experience working in a diverse and inclusive higher education environment;
Experience using Ellucian Banner Finance and Banner Student and customer relationship management (CRM) systems, such as Salesforce;
Experience using a Purchase Card (P-Card) and an e-procurement system for goods and services, such as eVA;
Experience supporting program accreditation and review processes.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
