The Department of Psychiatry, University of Maryland and the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center (MPRC) have an open fellowship position with scientific focus on the application of Big Data multimodal imaging and/or genetics techniques to study the diagnosis, deficit patterns, etiology of and treatment for major neuropsychiatric disorder disorders. MPRC is a leading research institution on schizophrenia and offers many opportunities to participate in large national and international studies on neuropsychiatric disorders with leading scientists in the field.
Applicants with an interest in big data/machine learning methods in large-scale studies, of connectomics, diffusion, functional or spectroscopy imaging are encouraged. This position will be mentored by Drs. Elliot Hong and Peter Kochunov. General educational activities will include internal courses on statistics, data analysis, biological psychiatry, psychopathology, neuroimaging, genetics, journal clubs, meetings with invited outside senior researchers, grant writing workshops, and individualized career development.
Applicants are expected to hold an advance degree (PhD, MD, or MD/PhD) in computer science, biomedical engineering, psychology, neuroscience, psychiatry, medical physics, computational biology or related fields.
