A postdoctoral fellow position is available in a highly dynamic interdisciplinary laboratory studying the role of collagen receptors in bone development and regeneration.
The proposed studies supported by the NIH and Department of Defense focus on the role of collagen receptors (discoidin domain receptors and integrins) in bone and cartilage development and regeneration. Studies involve analysis of ECM-activated signal transduction pathways in bone as well as in vivo assessment cell lineage and osteogenic activity using transgenic models. The successful candidate must be highly motivated with strong research capabilities and ability to design and carry out experiments with a high level of independence. This individual will also assist the PI in training new lab members and writing research manuscripts and documents.
The ideal candidate should have a recent PhD or equivalent degree in cell and molecular biology with a background in cell signaling and transgenic mouse models. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals is desired. Research experience in bone developmental biology is desired, but not required.
