Education Leadership (full- or part-time term faculty position)
The George Mason University's College of Education and Human Development’s Education Leadership program (www.cehd.gmu.edu) is seeking to hire full-time and/or part-time term instructional faculty with expertise in new and emerging models of school organization and experience with innovative approaches to school management. About the Program:
The Education Leadership Program is dedicated to graduating exceptionally well-prepared novice leaders. Nurturing strong partnerships with ten school districts that serve well over 25% of the student population in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Education Leadership faculty provide timely research and professional development aimed at improving the quality of education for all students. About half of school administrators in Northern Virginia public schools are Mason graduates, demonstrating the impact of the program in the region. The EDLE Online Program is ranked 11th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report out of over 350 online programs, further elevating our reputation to the field.
Responsibilities include teaching graduate-level courses related to instructional leadership, organizational learning, school reform, education economics/finance, and/or the application of the social sciences to the critical challenges faced by education institutions; contributing to the development and delivery of online courses; completing essential service activities (such as those related to student assessment and accreditation); and contributing to special initiatives designed to further the mission of the Unit, College, and University in areas related to education leadership, and to equity, cultural responsiveness, anti-racism, and inclusive excellence.
An earned Doctorate in education or a related field;
A profile of demonstrated teaching excellence and professional service with an initial trajectory toward this goal that is both accelerating and substantively compelling specifically in the areas related to equity, cultural responsiveness, anti-racism, and inclusive excellence;
Practical experience in K-12 education appropriate for the position's assignments.
Teaching experience in online venues and experience mentoring doctoral students.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
