Loyola University’s Facilities Department is currently seeking an Assistant Director for Environmental Services. This position reports to the Sr. Associate Director of Facilities Management. The Assistant Director Environmental Services is responsible for the complete oversight of the Environmental Services department and its employees. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director is one Lead EVS Supervisor and three other EVS Supervisors who each assist with overseeing their own teams of approximately 10 to 12 EVS Technicians.
The Assistant Director is responsible for the cleanliness of all Loyola University campus buildings including but not limited to the Evergreen campus, Timonium, Ridley and the Fitness and Aquatic Center (FAC). They will manage and oversee environmental services supervisors and staff across all shifts, including weekends.
Job duties include: Provide Leadership and supervision to the environmental services workforce to ensure effective and efficient delivery of service to all campus locations. Provide management, guidance, training and supervision to shift supervisors as well as employees on all shifts.
Develop and implement appropriate environmental services procedures and processes to increase performance, efficiency and safety. Develop and implement cleaning schedules with clearly defined tasks and frequencies, ensure that assignments are fair and equitable and evaluate their effectiveness to ensure consistent quality service. Conduct inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards, identify deficiencies, take appropriate corrective action and recommend improvement processes. Ensure operational readiness and safety of work areas, tools, and equipment.
Work in conjunction with various departments to coordinate services appropriate for the scheduled activities and athletic events. Ensure compliance with relevant federal and state requirements to ensure quality service.
Recruit, interview, and hire employees. Lead performance evaluations and recommend areas for individual training and development and employee morale. Provide disciplinary action as needed. Coordinate and approve employee leave.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience required.
