The Global Education Office of George Mason University is hiring a Program Administrator to development, manage, and promote international internship and experiential programs. Responsibilities in this position include growing the size and quality of the internship program, improving and seeking out relationships with alumni, internship institutions, and raising the profile of international internships on and off campus, as well as the administration of the student application portion of these study abroad programs.
Duties include advising students; promoting and marketing the portfolio of programs; and creating, maintaining and publishing program material. Maintaining relationships with internship providers, faculty and academic units, including developing curricular ties to units. Raising the profile of study abroad on and off campus, as well as giving procedural guidance/training to university constituents on international internship practices.
The position requires strong student advising skills, excellent administrative ability, attention to detail, and multitasking. International experience and experience with internship programming or experiential education is a must. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate cross-cultural sensitivities, and familiarity of U.S. and foreign university structures.
BA or BS required, or a combination of education and experience; MA in International Studies, International Affairs, Education, Business, Economics, Politics, or Foreign Language, or related field preferred.
Demonstrated significant administrative experience. Background in study abroad, higher education administration, experiential education or field studies.
