Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Director, Diversity and Inclusion will bring vision, enthusiasm, and collaboration to the Student Affairs division to support a diverse student body and further develop a welcoming, affirming, and sustaining co-curricular program at Stevenson University. The Director will lead and direct the activities of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, advising student organizations, developing and implementing programming, managing a part-time staff member and student workers, and managing budget. Collaboration and relationships with professional colleagues, students and student organizations will be essential for the success of this role.
Master's degree plus three to five years of related experience in higher education or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to work independently, identify creative solutions to solve problems, work collaboratively in teams, and effectively manage frequent changes in work assignments.

Ability to represent the Center of Diversity and Inclusion professionally and bring both professionalism and efficiency to the position and the Center.
Ability to implement change and develop a culture of continual improvement and assessment.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and knowledge of Colleague or a similar student information system.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
Ability to travel between campuses.
Serve as a trusted and knowledgeable advisor, advocate, and resource to advance strategies for diversity and inclusion for the Stevenson community.
Serve as a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the D&I Working Group to cultivate a vision and integrated programs that enhance and contribute to the achievement of the University’s diversity and inclusion strategic goals and objectives.
Serve as a member of the Title IX Committee, who will respond to reports of discrimination, bias and Title IX complaints, as assigned. The incumbent will serve as a co-investigator to conduct investigations of complaints.
Foster and support the intellectual, social, and cultural development of all students, to enhance understanding of diverse identities and intersectionality.
Communicate and collaborate regularly with members of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee to establish academic and cultural programming and presentations that will contribute to university life.
Develop and conduct workshops, retreats, conferences, and campus-wide events that strengthen and highlight Stevenson University's commitment to diversity and inclusion core values including: Safe Space Training, The Pulse Dialogues, Friday Night Flicks, and the development and coordination of history and heritage month events.
Provide oversight, support, and training to student organizations and their leaders.
Provide advice and guidance for established multicultural groups and clubs.
Research best practices in diversity initiatives and incorporate those findings into actionable plans for the university community.
Establish and maintain local and national networks to stay informed of best practices.
Conduct regular assessment of programs and trainings.
Compile monthly and annual reports of diversity initiatives.
Manage and prepare the department operating budget.
Represent the University at various off campus functions and conferences.
